FAQ

Do I need an appointment to try on dresses?

Yes! We require all brides to schedule an appointment to try on dresses and/or accessories. We allow 1.5 hours for you and your guests to enjoy the studio to yourselves. This provides us the opportunity to provide a personal and intimate experience for you and your guests.

How do I schedule an appointment?

We offer online scheduling to make the scheduling process easy and convenient for you. Head over to our appointments page and select an appointment type and time that works for you! If you find that your preferred date/time is unavailable, shoot us an email. Our schedule sometimes changes so we’re happy to fit you in in the event we receive a cancellation.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask that you provide 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

What is The White Door’s price point?

Our price range is $1,800 to $6,000 with the majority of our gowns falling between $2,000-$4,000.

How far in advance should I begin dress shopping?

We recommend brides begin their search 9-12 months in advance. This allows time for the production of your gown (4-6 months) and alterations (1-2 months).

How long does it take to receive my gown?

All of the gowns we order are custom made. Standard timing for gown production usually falls between 16-20 weeks. If you need something sooner, most designers provide rush options for an additional fee.

My wedding is in a few months but I really want a dress from The White Door. Is there a way I can get my dress on short notice?

Depending on the designer, we’re sometimes able to get your dress in faster than the normal turnaround time. That said, rush orders do incur an additional fee from the designer. On occasion, we sell our floor samples, sometimes at a discounted rate.

What size gowns are available to try on?

We carry one sample of each dress, usually ranging in size from 6-14. Bridal sizing runs a bit different than street sizing and varies with each designer. On occasion, we’re able to borrow a smaller or larger size from the designer with enough notice. If you know there’s a dress you’re interested in, feel free to reach out to us and let us try to get a sample size that suits you!

Do you have a specific gown that I love?

Maybe! We don’t carry every dress from a designer’s new collection so it’s best to reach out to us to see! If there’s a designer you love and want to see their entire collection, be on the lookout for a trunk show! If no trunk show is scheduled, shoot us an email and we’d be happy to let you know if we carry the dress you’ve been eying.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

Just an open mind and ‘let’s find my dress’ attitude! We recommend nude colored undergarments but they certainly aren’t a must! If you plan to wear shapewear on your wedding day, feel free to bring that along, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Once you’ve decided on your dress, your stylist will talk through the best undergarment options for said dress.

Who should I bring with me?

When it comes to finding your wedding dress we like the motto ‘less is more’ We’ve found that smaller parties provide a better experience for our brides but by all means, you do you girl! We have comfortable seating for up to 4 guests so if you plan to bring more than 4 people, please give us a heads up so we can do our best to accommodate your party. We cap all appointments at 6 guests.

Will I need alterations and do you offer them at The White Door?

Brides almost always need alterations in order for your dress to have the right fit. Once you’re ready to purchase your gown, we’ll take your measurements and compare those to the specific designer’s size chart. From there we’ll order a dress that is closest to your measurements. If you are in-between sizes, we recommend that you order a larger size, as it’s much easier to have a dress taken in than let out.

We don’t currently offer in-house alterations but we’d be happy to provide recommendations for seamstresses around town!

Is The White Door kid friendly?

We love little ones! However, our studio isn’t the most kid-friendly space so we kindly ask that you do not bring little ones to your appointment.
